Kajang, 8 April 2025 – The Minister of Youth and Sports,  Hannah Yeoh, today attended the launch of the first Rakan Muda Turun Kampus Program for 2025, held at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Sungai Long Campus. This program serves as a dedicated platform for students of Higher Education Institutions (IPT) to voice their aspirations, opinions, and ideas regarding youth and sports development directly to the top leadership of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS).

According to an official statement from KBS, the primary objectives of this program are to disseminate the latest information on government policies and initiatives related to youth and sports development, provide a space for youths to express their views on relevant issues, and promote the Rakan Demokrasi Lifestyle among students of public and private IPTs.

A total of 10 Rakan Muda Turun Kampus series are scheduled throughout the year, expected to involve approximately 5,000 students from various IPTs. The program is further enlivened with interactive activities organized by the Rakan Muda Development Division under the National Youth and Sports Department (JBSN).

During the visit,  Hannah  took the opportunity to engage with UTAR students from various faculties and inspect the campus facilities to gain a closer understanding of the students’ needs. She expressed hope that this initiative would strengthen the identity and unity among youths while fostering collaboration networks between institutions.

“This program not only gives students a platform to speak up but also serves as a vital channel for KBS to gather direct input in formulating youth empowerment strategies,” said Hannah  when met at the event.

The implementation of the Rakan Muda Turun Kampus Program is expected to expand further, in line with KBS’s mission to connect with the youth and ensure their voices are heard in shaping future policies.
