KUALA LUMPUR, April 18, 2025 – The Ministry of National Unity (KPN), through the Department of Museums Malaysia (JMM) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM), has introduced the Museum Innovation Student Inspiration Program (IPIM), a structured museum education initiative that integrates formal and informal learning.
The program adopts a 'hands-on' approach, utilizing museum collections as teaching and learning aids. Aligned with the History subject’s Curriculum and Assessment Standard Document (DSKP) and Daily Lesson Plans (RPH), IPIM aims to foster awareness among students about Malaysia’s historical heritage and cultural diversity.
The Minister of National Unity, Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, stated that IPIM provides students with opportunities to engage their senses in learning, thereby enhancing focus and honing higher-order thinking skills (KBAT) in line with the Malaysia Education Blueprint. “This program seeks to cultivate understanding and appreciation of national identity among the younger generation,” he said.
A total of 41 federal and state museums nationwide will implement IPIM, which also supports Malaysia MADANI values such as respect and confidence.
