LENGGONG, 20 April 2025 – Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, accompanied by his wife, made his first visit to Maktab Rendah Sains MARA (MRSM) Lenggong during this Syawal, receiving a warm and heartfelt welcome from the institution’s community. In his speech, he extended Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri greetings to all members of MRSM Lenggong, particularly the students whom he regards as his own children.

He emphasized that the establishment of MRSM is a national agenda aimed at advancing the academic achievements and character development of indigenous children, not driven by political motives or tribalism. “MRSM exists to ensure our children are not left behind in global competition,” he stated.

Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid reiterated his firm stance against bullying, having previously directed the MARA Chairman to eradicate such behavior entirely from all MRSM institutions. He endorsed the “You Touch, You Go” approach introduced, stressing zero tolerance on the issue.

“MRSM must be a safe and conducive environment to produce the ‘cream of the cream’ – leaders, academics, and outstanding professionals. I aspire, God willing, that one day a Prime Minister of Malaysia will emerge from MRSM students,” he said with optimism.

He expressed confidence that MRSM and MARA Education Institutions (IPMA) will continue to produce knowledgeable, ethical generations capable of contributing to national development. “God willing, a bright future awaits our children,” he added.

The visit underscored the government’s commitment to ensuring educational institutions like MRSM remain a platform for nurturing the nation’s talent and leadership.
