BN’s Number 1 Candidate Strongly Backed at Ayer Kuning By-Election Nomination

TAPAH, 12 April 2025 – This morning, Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, alongside Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders and Unity Government coalition partners, accompanied BN’s candidate, Ustaz Dr. Mohamad Yusri Bakir, to the nomination session for the Ayer Kuning State Legislative Assembly By-Election (PRK) at Dewan Merdeka, Tapah, Perak.

Ustaz Dr. Mohamad Yusri, who holds a PhD in Islamic Education from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) and serves as Head of the Islamic and Moral Education Department at the Ipoh Campus Teachers’ Training Institute, is seen as a highly capable candidate to carry forward the legacy of excellence left by the late Ishsam Shahruddin as Ayer Kuning’s representative.

“I am confident that with meticulous planning and the strong collaboration between BN and Pakatan Harapan machinery, we can win the hearts of voters and retain the Ayer Kuning state seat,” said Ahmad Zahid, who is also UMNO President.

He expressed hope that all efforts would be eased and success achieved in this by-election.
