A Nation Mourns: Zahid Pays Tribute to Pak Lah

KUALA LUMPUR, 14 April 2025 – Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi visited Carcosa Residence tonight to pay his respects to the late Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, former Prime Minister of Malaysia, who has passed away.

In a brief statement, Ahmad Zahid expressed profound sadness over the loss of a friend and statesman known as a leader with a heart for the people.
“Allahu Akbar, a sense of grief and sorrow enveloped my heart upon arrival,” he said.
He also conveyed condolences to the family of the late Tun Abdullah and prayed for his soul to be placed among the righteous in Jannah.
Tonight, the nation was shocked by news of the former Prime Minister’s passing.
The late Tun Abdullah’s remains will be brought to the National Mosque tomorrow morning. 15 April.
The public will have the opportunity to pay their final respects at the Main Prayer Hall of the National Mosque from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
The remains will then be laid to rest at the Heroes’ Mausoleum, National Mosque, after the Zohor prayers.
Non-Muslim visitors are advised to wear modest and appropriate attire as a sign of respect.
