PUTRAJAYA, 22 January 2025 – The Minister of Home Affairs, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, described the inaugural hosting of the Asia International Safety and Security Conference and Exhibition 2025 (AISSE25) as a great success for the country.
He said AISSE25 concluded today with the attendance of over 5,000 visitors from within and outside the country.
“We witnessed participation from 348 companies representing 48 countries. This is a number that I consider very commendable, especially since this is the inaugural event.
“This summit also reinforces Malaysia’s role as a leader in promoting regional cooperation as the ASEAN chair. It has also shown Malaysia’s commitment to uniting ASEAN countries in addressing common security challenges,” he said.
AISSE25 took place over three days at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), showcasing advanced security technologies and equipment from leading companies in the industry.
Elaborating further, Saifuddin said AISSE25 will be organized again in 2027 on a larger scale with greater impact.
He also mentioned that artificial intelligence (AI) technology will be progressively integrated into the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) and its agencies starting this year.
He stated that this step aligns with efforts to enhance efficiency, safety, and effectiveness of services to the public.
“Besides strengthening solutions for security and border control issues.
“As a start, KDN has implemented a facial recognition system using AI technology at border entry points including Terminal 1 and 2 of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex (KSAB) in Johor since early last month,” he said.
He also expressed appreciation to all parties involved, including the media, delegates, exhibitors, sponsors, and speakers, for their dedication in making AISSE25 a success.
