SELANGOR, 1 April 2025 – The Selangor Smart Operations Centre (SSOC) has issued an official statement regarding the fire incident involving a Petronas gas pipeline that occurred in the vicinity of the Petronas Oil Station in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, Petaling district, on Tuesday.
According to the initial report received by SSOC, the fire involved a main gas pipeline and not the Petronas oil station itself. Authorities at the scene confirmed that the affected gas pipeline has been shut off, although the full extinguishing process is still pending the depletion of gas within the pipeline.
The fire also spread to the nearby Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru area, causing several houses to catch fire. As of now, the exact number of affected houses has yet to be determined. Preliminary reports indicate that there are victims trapped inside homes, and rescue efforts are being actively carried out by response teams.
Victims who have been successfully rescued have been transferred to a Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS) at the Putra Heights Mosque Multipurpose Hall. Several victims reportedly sustained burn injuries and are awaiting ambulances for further treatment. At present, the mosque authorities are also assisting in supporting the victims’ needs.
The coordinates of the fire location are 3.01736, 101.58385, while the coordinates of the PPS are 2.997600, 101.576732. This information has been verified by the Disaster Services Department of the Subang Jaya City Council (JPB MBSJ).
In its statement, SSOC said it will continue to monitor the situation and take appropriate follow-up actions. Updates will be provided periodically to ensure the public receives accurate and timely information.
Any further developments will be updated by the Selangor State Disaster Management Unit through SSOC’s official channels. The public is urged to remain calm and comply with the authorities’ instructions to ensure collective safety.
