PUTRA HEIGHTS, 1 ApriL 2025 – The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM), through the Selangor State Social Welfare Department (JKM), has activated a Temporary Evacuation Center (PPS) at the Putra Heights Mosque Multipurpose Hall to accommodate victims affected by a gas pipeline fire in the area. The incident, classified as a Level 1 Disaster, necessitated immediate action to ensure the safety and well-being of the involved residents.
As of 1:00 PM today, a total of 49 victims from 17 families have been relocated and housed at the PPS. The victims are provided with essential facilities, including food, personal hygiene kits, sleeping equipment, drinking water, and snacks, to ensure their comfort throughout the evacuation period.
KPWKM, through JKM, continues to work closely with other agencies such as the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM), the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), and the Malaysian Volunteer Department (RELA) to guarantee the safety and welfare of the victims. These efforts reflect the government’s commitment to managing emergency situations efficiently and effectively.
