KUALA LUMPUR, 20 MARCH 2025 – The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, YB Datuk Seri Dr. Shamsul Anuar bin Nasarah, today had the opportunity to participate in the 2025 National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) Sahur Visit Program held at the AADK Federal Territory Transitional House in Kampung Bharu, Kuala Lumpur.
Organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) through AADK, this program aims to reach out to AADK clients undergoing community-based treatment and rehabilitation programs (RPDK) as well as those under the Post Continuum Care Programme. This initiative is part of efforts to engage with groups in need of support in their recovery from drug addiction.
According to an AADK statement, the primary objective of the Sahur Visit Program is to provide support to AADK clients, raise public awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, and promote the rehabilitation programs offered by the agency. Additionally, the program seeks to encourage active community involvement in combating drug abuse issues in the country.
A total of 59 AADK clients from around Kuala Lumpur, who receive services from the AADK Federal Territory Transitional House, attended the program. The transitional house began operations in February 2024, and to date, more than 400 clients have benefited from its facilities, thanks to close collaboration with the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP).
Various activities and programs have been conducted at this facility, including psychospiritual programs, psychoeducation, counseling, health initiatives in partnership with the Ministry of Health, and knowledge-sharing sessions involving multiple stakeholders, including MAIWP.
The 2025 AADK Sahur Visit Program is seen as a positive step in reinforcing the government’s commitment to helping individuals trapped in drug-related issues reintegrate into society as productive members.
