Anita Azrina Abdul Aziz Makes History as First Woman Appointed PSM Chairperson

KUALA LUMPUR, 20 MARCH 2025 – The Malaysia Stadium Corporation (PSM) today announced the appointment of its new Board of Directors for the 2025/2027 term, which will officially commence on 21 March 2025 for a two-year period. This appointment replaces the 2023/2025 board, whose term ends today, 20 March 2025.

The appointment aligns with the authority granted to the Minister of Youth and Sports (KBS) under Part II, Sections 6(1), (2), and (3) of the Malaysia Stadium Corporation Act 2010 (Act 717) to appoint 16 board members.

In this new term, Datin Anita Azrina Abdul Aziz, former Senior General Manager of Group Strategic Relations and Communications at PETRONAS, makes history as the first woman appointed as PSM Chairperson.

The Deputy Chairperson position is held by Datuk Seri Windsor Paul John, Secretary-General of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Other notable names in the 2025/2027 board lineup include Dato’ Ts Dr. Nagulendran Kangayatkarasu (Secretary-General of KBS), Encik Zahir Kelvin Ong Abdullah (Executive Director of Venus Assets Sdn Bhd), and Encik Aaron Sarma (Co-Founder of ScaleUp Malaysia and Remote Ventures).

The full list also includes Encik Rubin Khoo Bu Boen (Corporate Representative for Media and Communications), Puan Yap Hui Kun (Honorary Treasurer of the Malaysia Swimming Federation), Dr. Teh Lah Hoong (Honorary Secretary of the Malaysia Gymnastics Federation), Encik Selvendran Saravanamuthu (Honorary Treasurer of the Malaysian Hockey Confederation), and Encik Monteiro Gerard Clair (President of the Squash Racquets Association of Malaysia).

Also listed are Dato’ Haji Mohd Azhar bin Jamaluddin (Vice President of the Football Association of Malaysia), Encik Iliyas Jamil (Chief Executive Officer of PSM), Datuk Dr. Khairus Masnan bin Abdul Khalid (Deputy Secretary-General (Management) of the Prime Minister’s Department), Encik Muhammad Hazrul bin Ismail (Head of the Remuneration Policy and Management Section, Ministry of Finance), Ir. Mohamad Darus bin Selamat (Senior Civil Engineer, Public Works Department), and Encik Asdirhyme bin Abdul Rasib (Secretary of the Sustainable Energy Division, Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation).

PSM reiterated its commitment to strengthening the governance, management, and oversight of facilities under its purview for the benefit of Malaysians. Meanwhile, heartfelt gratitude was extended to the 2023/2025 board members, particularly Dato’ Gerald Hans Isaac, the outgoing PSM Chairperson for 2023/2025, for their contributions and dedicated service.

Earlier, Hans Isaac announced his resignation as PSM Chairperson via his Instagram platform, marking the end of his two-year tenure leading the national stadium management body. In his statement, Hans expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hannah Yeoh, for the trust and opportunities provided during his leadership of PSM.
