Kuala Lumpur, March 13, 2025 – Leaders from various youth and women’s wings of political parties in Malaysia issued a strong call to the public, particularly the multiracial youth, to collectively reject toxic and extreme politics that could threaten societal harmony and hinder the nation’s development.
Woo Kah Leong, Head of HARAPAN Youth and National DAPSY Chief, emphasized that the younger generation must serve as the primary bulwark in ensuring Malaysia’s stability and progress. “We must reject any form of politics that divides and damages unity for the sake of a better future,” he said.
Meanwhile, Adam Adli Abd Halim, Head of KEADILAN Malaysia Youth, urged young people to be more discerning in choosing constructive narratives. “Extreme politics only leads to regression. We need to unite to drive inclusive development,” he stated.
Mohd Hasbie Muda, National AMANAH Youth Chief, added, “Peace and harmony are the foundation of prosperity. Toxic politics has no place in our diverse society.”
Felix Joseph Saang, Head of UPKO Youth Movement, highlighted the role of youth in preserving Malaysia’s legacy of unity. “We are the heirs of this nation. Let’s not allow extremism to poison our future,” he asserted.
On the other hand, Masturah Abu Bakar, Head of AMANAH National Young Women, voiced the need to involve women in this effort. “Young women must also rise to oppose divisive politics for the sake of lasting harmony,” she said.
This call is seen as a unified step by young leaders from diverse political backgrounds to raise awareness among Malaysians, especially the new generation, to continue safeguarding peace and propelling the nation toward a more positive future.
