BANGI, MALAYSIA 22 Feb 2025 – The Cabinet has been reminded to accept criticism with an open heart and address existing weaknesses.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the need for strong unity and solidarity within the Cabinet.
“This, in turn, serves as a Madani government that truly amplifies the voice and will of the people,” he said.
He made these remarks in a brief address at the two-day 2025 Madani Government Retreat held near Bangi, Selangor, today.
Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, said the 2025 Madani Government Retreat is part of efforts to ensure the smooth continuation of carefully planned initiatives to shape the nation’s direction with prudence and wisdom.
He stated that the retreat provides a platform to foster synergy among Cabinet members, allowing them to collectively improve, propose fresher ideas, and formulate more strategic initiatives, particularly for the well-being of the people and the country’s economic progress.
“In this brief address, I stressed that the current global landscape, including geopolitical and technological situations, demands that any government move swiftly and adapt.
“This is to remain relevant and function effectively for all levels of society,” he said.
Meanwhile, Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the retreat enables the Cabinet to discuss, reflect, and strategize together to ensure that all plans under the 2025 national development agenda can be realized.
He noted that this aligns with the “Whole-of-Nation and Whole-of-Government” approach.
“This retreat will also further strengthen cross-ministry collaboration planning for the collective good,” he said.
